Wrapped in your lips,

I see the truth,

A glowing lamp post in the night,

-My exposed depths sit upon a throne

Your Orbit

I thought that it would be

Enough to be in your orbit

Like a distant star

Created to protect you from harm

There’s a door between us

That we chose to open

Even when the ground underneath

Was likely to crumble

The door in my heart wanted to remain closed

Because the empty dark rooms

I found myself inside were what I was used to

But the heart grew tired

For it wanted to expand

The door broke open

The dam collapsed

And my words flowed like a river that was finally able to move freely

I realized that I was always meant to dance with you

Close enough to where our hearts

Felt safe enough to unravel themselves

And bask in the warmth of the sun

My heart spread wide open

You remind me of the sunset,

The way the ocean glistened

To mirror the feelings I wanted to convey,

I quietly inched toward you

But the yearning grew

Until all I could hear was your voice,

Crying out in tones of ecstasy

For a moment I wanted possession over you,

The ice thawed

I saw your face

And my heart spread wide open

To where my mind felt like it was dangling

On a tightrope above monstrous flames

Your eyes carry pain

Under the disguise of art,

Lives a desire that can never truly be satisfied,

An ache that words cannot describe

Yet the longing is what keeps me alive

The eyes you show me

Carry stories of pain

I couldn't quite understand

But you reminded me of a planet

That's been forgotten

A mysterious existence

Like gravity itself

Graceful Facade

A secret hidden inside of a cracked door,

A troubling shadow looms over my shoulder

Left to figure out if what I feel is love

Or desire dressed up in a costume,

Meant to fool me again

I let the voices in my head

Downplay the violence

Because violence was the environment

I was pulled into without warning,

And true affection wasn't an option

It was easier to tremble under your touch

While swimming in a sea of tethered flames

Mistaking it for love

Your haven was a graceful facade

That slowly lured me

With an undertone of hope

That my past could be erased

But your hands circled my throat,

The world went black

And the building burned down

Your heart smiled

Your heart smiled and I felt it,

An intimate love letter

From the unspoken depths

Carving away the pain

As if that was your gift

The tears rise up to my throat

When I see the ocean of colors,

Sway to the music

I try to find a name for the feeling

A resonance

That makes the universe more beautiful

Than anything else
